Contest update
Deadline for the name the cam contest is 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.
The suggested names will then be posted, with voting running until Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 22), at 8 a.m., and a winner announced shortly thereafter.
Voting rules will be posted tomorrow (Thursday). Essentially, it’s one vote per e-mail address, and it’s the honor system from there.
If you have any thoughts on how that procedure might be improved, e-mail me.
Meanwhile, there is no news to report in the owl box or duck box. Just a bunch of wood chips and sawdust going nowhere, for now

Jim, last night as my daughter in law was coming in from her night shift at midnight
there was a little screech owl sitting on her gate fence post just staring at her. It scared her to death. I have to say, that post is right near their back door. I thought these owls were more reticent. I told them.
Give me back my owl. I hope it was not mine.
They live just blocks away from me.
I guess I better put my new owl house up.
I thought it was too early for down here. -
