The Virginia rails have been very active at the Celery Farm the past week or so.
I have seen them in four locations, including both sides of No-Name Culvert.
Their secretiveness and elusiveness were no match for my meager photographic talents.
I did manage to get a little video of one on Saturday, below. which gives you an idea of their habitat and behavior. They are usually seen at the water’s edge, foraging.
My wife and I saw another one Sunday when we cross-country skied at the CF.
