OWL: Ace back in place
I am happy to report that Ace has returned to the nesting box after a 48-hour absence.
I am not sure, but I think he was spooked when a tree service cut down a tree in my yard early Wednesday morning.
He is back now but I sense he is skittish, so I intend to keep my distance.
That is one of the beauties of the screech cam. I can see him from afar. And hear him being harassed by very loud chicadees. I will try to get a new video over the weekend.
And I won’t have any more ailing trees cut down during owl season!

I am hoping there is enough time until breeding season to get Ace back in his home.
There should be, he said, crossing his fingers. -
I HAVE ENJOYED READING ABOUT ACE…I WALK THE RIDGEWOOD PARK (20MILES) AND ON SOME LUCKY DAYS I HAVE SEEN DEERS STARING BACK AT ME. IT IS A HAPPY AND BEAUTIFUL MOMENT, SO I CAN JUST IMAGING HOW YOU FEEL WANTING TO KNOW THE WHEREABOUTS OF ACE.

This is such great news. I didn’t tell my students that he was AWOL-oops AOWL.
They would have been distraught if they though he was gone.
