CELERY FARM: Green Way, dusk II

Nighthawk
Common nighthawk

On Sunday evening I took a quick walk at Green Way to see what I could see.
I had hoped to maybe see a fox, but they don’t seem to be around much anymore — which is good in some ways, because some people were getting too close and for too long.
But I did hit the exacta of "night" birds — the common nighthawk pictured above, and a black-crowned night heron.
The nighthawk is one cool bird — usually seen near dawn or dusk — and a member of the prestigious nightjar family, immortalized in the classic Elton John tune, "Come Down in Time."
