I have walked past this plant dozens of times near Phair’s Pond, but until last Friday’s butterfly walk, I didn’t know what it was.
It is a moth mullein, a plant with quite a history.

The person on the walk who identified it was Tom Burr, a former biology teacher who frequently IDs the mystery flora on this blog.
