CELERY FARM: Moth mullein

Img_1494_2

I have walked past this plant dozens of times near Phair’s Pond, but until last Friday’s butterfly walk, I didn’t know what it was.

It is a moth mullein, a plant with quite a history.
Read here (the last paragraph) to learn more.
The  person on the walk who  identified  it was Tom Burr, a former biology teacher who frequently IDs the mystery flora on this blog.
As a way of saying thanks to the Burr meister, I would like to point you to a couple of books he did — so stayed tuned.
