MONDAY MYSTERIES: Answered

Sharp-eyed friends of this blog solved both Monday morning mysteries — almost.

Deedee Burnside correctly identified (as far as I can tell) the little bird near the Warden’s Watch as a willow flycatcher.
And John identified the strange female duck as a hooded merganser — although he failed to note that the bird appears to have three legs. : -)

Thanks!

    Jim,
I’m going to have to disagree w/ the bird ID’s
I think the flycatcher is a Phoebe, and I think the duck is ragged-looking Mallard. Hoodeds should not be at CF this time of year either.
    thanks
