MONDAY MORNING MYSTERY

Meadow_rue
Clue: If I am not mistaken, you’ll regret not identifying this plant.
P.S. Happy Labor Day, and welcome to September.

For sure (I went to see it) Canada Mayflower or
    Maianthemum canadense or Wild Lily-of-the-Valley

  • Canada Mayflower? Hmmm, that’s an idea, DeeDee. Looks kinda lily-ish. Ain’t trying to ID plants by leaves only fun?! 🙂

I ditto Tom!! Could be Canada Mayflower??
Orchid was what I meant! Not a Rue!!

  • Jim Wright, you will “rue” the day that you had us flippin’ through the books and practically the entire world wide web, trying to find whether even the basal leaves of meadow rue (all right, I cheated and looked at the photo url) look like this. I agree with DeeDee that the leaves look kind of orchidy. But then again, I don’t know what self-respecting orchid would have leaves hanging around at this time of year.
But thanks a lot, Jim–by flippin’ through books and web pages, we learn a lot–even while on wild goose chases.
