BEYOND: Great local nature art museum

Artmuseum_2    Bergen County is the home of a world-class nature art museum, the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum — yet way too few people are aware of it.

   "The Art of Conservation," a show that recently opened, is an international exhibit of nature in art featuring works be members of the Artists for Conservation Foundation.

  Pictured here is "King Karasinga," an acrylic of a silverback mountain gorilla by Edward Spera.

  Admission is free but donations are most welcome.

    My friend and I went to this lovely little museum two Sundays ago. Engage the young woman, I think her name was Marijane, in conversation and she will enjoy sharing with you. They have an Audubon folio which is priceless and amazing.We had a light lunch right in Oradell by the Bergen County Players playhouse.
