SAVING THE FELL HOUSE: Planning Board meeting on Thursday

The Fell House is a historic house on less than three acres across from the Celery Farm on the Franklin Turnpike.
It’s that stately white house high on the hill just off Cottage Place, with the root cellar and beautiful white barn.
Despite community opposition, a developer is trying to tear down the house and shoehorn 11 townhomes onto the property, even though the town requires a minimum lot of 10 acres for these townhomes, and even though such a development would pose huge flooding and water-pollution runoff problems to the Celery Farm
The proposal is before the Planning Board again tomorrow night, and a solid turnout can only help the Celery Farm and the Fell House’s cause.

  • Very enlightening video. I suggest adding this to the organization’s website.

  • Why is it that I remember this being called the Pfister Mansion?
I hope the meeting went well.

  • Good luck with this effort. One thing we don’t need in this area is more townhomes.
