First Wood Duck of the Year?
On a walk around the Celery Farm on Sunday, my good friend Seymour Drakes and I saw this lone female Wood Duck.
Our first reaction: Could this be the female that was hanging around with the male Mallard last fall? Click here for link. We think you'll find the proof fairly persuasive. The tilt of the head, the arch of the eye…

Had a male in full glorious plumage at CP end of last week. Looking forward to more.

I have seen the three of them also, the mallard pair and the sweet little lone female wood duck. She does seem less timid and she sticks to the other two like glue. I’ve got some photos of the three of them together last week. I will forward some to you Jim when I get home.
