Rob Fanning Report 052009

Rob fanning     Rob sez: Today was quality or quantity. Heard a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO at Greenway/Phairs–then heard and saw it or another along the path
leading to the tractor.

Overall it's been one of my best years for
seeing Cuckoos.

Also had nice looks at a singing ALDER FLYCATCHER.
While I hear a few every year at CF, getting a decent look at a singer
has proven very difficult the last few years. A "Traill's" Fly at the
Point may have been another Alder.

Heard a PINE WARBLER singing from the parking lot (probably breeding across the street)

P.S. Fred Weber saw 2 PURPLE MARTINS flying around the gourds early this morning!…
