Nice photo’s,I wish I had been a little quicker getting my camera focused.
I saw the Glossy Ibis this morning also from Wardens Watch, it was in flight & at first I thought it was the Great Blue Heron. I couldn’t get my camera up & focus fast enough to get a picture. sigh !! Then while we were walking twords Pirie we ran into, what seems to me now after seeing the picture on this page, Jim. He asked us if we had seen the Glossy Ibis, that’s when I realized what I saw was the Ibis & not the Heron. We went in search of it, but couldn’t get another glimps of it. I did see the aerial battle though. I saw a battle in the sky’s over my house in Butler on Friday of what looked like Crows going after a Hawk. I took a couple of pictures but they were so far up the pictures came out fuzzy, but I could make out the Hawk. Plus right before that happened, I saw a Great Blue Heron flying over. Looked like it was coming from Kinnelon direction, I figure it might have been around the lake up there. Again the picture was fuzzy, too far up for my lens, but could see it’s color. We did manage to get pictures of the Green Heron from Pirie & also some of the two baby Geese with their parents, they were in the brook while we were walking to Pirie. It was a good day….
