Tiger Scouts!
To get a fresh perspective on the Celery Farm, try guiding six rambunctious Tiger Scouts around.
Each had a worksheet with drawings of six common Celery Farm birds, and each had to see as many as they could during the hour walk.
One of the parents along on the walk gave them stickers for each bird seen.
They saw plenty of Red-wings, a Great Blue Heron, and Mallards many.
They also saw a Northern Cardinal, and heard a jay or two, but the Green Heron was a tad elusive.
One Scout also saw a "Grapple," while another was not interested in looking at a pair of Yellow Warblers because they were not on the worksheet.
I'll take the Grapple-spotting kid any day, though I have to say all six were great kids, and a joy to be with.
I'm guessing that if it weren't for all the Poison Ivy, they would have said the Celery Farm was perfect.
