Open House at Fell House: Sunday, March 28
Patty Finn reports:
Be one of the first to see inside the historic Fell House in Allendale! The Concerned Citizens of Allendale is very happy to announce that
the public is invited to see inside the home of John Fell, a
Revolutionary War patriot, on Sunday, March 28 from noon to 5:00 p.m.
This is the first time that the public is being allowed into
Fell's pre-Revolutionary War home since it was purchased by the
Concerned Citizens of Allendale on March 4, 2010, after more than three
years fighting a development threat and negotiating with the owner.
Some of the contributors to the new book "Revolutionary Bergen County: The Road to Independence" will be on hand to sell and sign copies. A chapter on John Fell: "Patriot, POW, Diarist Extraordinaire," written
by some guy named Jim Wright, is in the book.
All money from the sale of the books on
this day will go to the Concerned Citizens of Allendale to assist with
their fund-raising goals for the Fell House.
Please do not park at the house; there are many issues with
on-site parking. Therefore, parking will be available on Cottage Place,
at the Celery Farm, and in the Archer Methodist Church on Franklin
Turnpike near Elm St.
Unfortunately, at this time, the Fell House is not ADA compliant
but we shall be working on that and we will be having another open
house later on this year.
For further information, please contact the Patty Finn at pfinn07401@gmail.com or call at 201 787 5546.

We hope to make it there, Jim. The more I can expose Grace to revolutionary history in our own backyard the better. Hope you enjoy the book left today!
