Barn Owlet

IMG_0161-1
When my wife and I attended a Fyke Nature Association talk on bats, we didn't expect this treat — a Barn Owlet. I photographed it in its little blue carrying case.  More on the bat talk later this week.

The live owlet, from the American Museum of Natural History, will be used for educational purposes.

  • WOW. Beautiful.

  • Deedee Burnside

I like the white fuzz tapering in to the sky blue in the
surrounding of the heart shaped face. And there
is something about those beautiful eyes.

  • That is a great photo, something about his eyes…

  • Thanks for the kind words… Any ideas?

  • Wow! Somewhere, somehow, this will be a prize-winning photo! It is as iconic as Michael L Smith’s famous “Mad Bluebird” found on mugs, suncatchers, prints, calendars…ad infinitum. Do something with it. Now I will take another sip from my Mad Bluebird mug.
