My ‘Bird Watcher’ Column This Week
My column this week is about one of my least favorite birds (aside from Canada Geese) — the Brown-headed Cowbird. You'll have to read the column to find out why, but you're probably on the right track already.
The link is here. Earlier related post is here.

Hi Jim!
Read the column in the Record the other day. Had to check in with you. I have to agree. Ever since I looked up the Brown Headed Cowbird in my book several years ago, they have been at the bottom of my list. Unfortunately, I have seen them in my yard ever since then.
On a happier note, I was blessed to witness a Flicker family in the yard this past week. Usually, I only catch a glimpse of one of them in the area flying away so I was thrilled to see three “babies” being taught to hunt for bugs in the mulch by the parent bird.
