Kevin Watson did a last-minute birding trip down Barnegat way yesterday. 

  Between Barnegat and Brigantine, we tried our luck on Cedar Run Dock Road off Route 9 just south of Barnegat.

We lucked out — Cave Swallows (above), Gray Ghost (below) and Kingfisher (right) within minutes.
