Barbara Dilger took this recent photo of a feather found by Stiles Thomas. What kind of feather is it, and where was it found?

Wood Duck,
Full disclosure, I did a search for “duck feather” and the 3rd image on yahoo was a feather match from a fly tying site..
anyway it looks like it would be from the (tanish/yellowish)side border right below the wing on a male. -
Hooded Merganser? Ring Necked Pheasant? Wood Duck? Red Breasted Merganser? Lots of possibilities with those colors. I can’t quite figure out how that feather would lay. Since the photo’s title gives away that it was found at Heron Pond & it is dated January 1st, I guess I am leaning toward Wood Duck or Hooded Merganser.
