Garter Snake Tongue (Click below to view)

A Garter Snake often hangs out under a black tarp by my garage (I think it likes the heat it generates).

Thought I'd try to get a photo of it with its tongue out.

If you look closely at the black tips of the red tongue, you can sort of see the fork faintly.

I don't post photos of snakes on the blog's main page because they freak some people out. So…

    Great shot! I had never seen the forked tongue on a gartner snake until now.
