Barbara Dilger writes:

I went to the Celery Farm the day after the October snow for a walk and to see how the white would look against the autumn leaves.

From the Pirie stand, I saw what at first I thought was a big white gull with a dark back.

I looked again and realized that it was an adult Bald Eagle standing on a clump across the pond.

He soon took off with something in his talons, but I can't be certain exactly what he had caught for his lunch. EagleBaldAdultCFDSC1417crop0ER-1

More eagle pix by Barbara follow. (Thanks, Barbara!)

It is so neat that there are so many Eagles around these days, remember back in the seventies, when it was such a rarity.  They are amazing to see, it always is a thrill.
