More Raptors of Belize: Black Hawks

Common Black Hawk_1376
Since many of us rarely get to see raptors from other parts of the world, I thought I would share some of my photos from Belize.

As can be the case, a bird called "common," the Common Black Hawk (above), was probably the best raptor sighting of the trip (thanks to our guide, Melvis).

Like the Crested Eagle seen by Vlad Rodriguez a week later, this bird was seen near a road at the Programme for Belize's La Milpa field station. (More on La Milpa and Programme for Belize here.)

The immature Great Black Hawk (below), was seen by the bridge at Chan Chich Lodge.
