Wood Rails at Celery Farm
As Seymour Drakes and I walked toward the Warden's Watch recently, we spotted
these Wood Rails.
We hadn't really noticed them before because, like
most rails, they are typically motionless and seldom make a sound.
We have seen lots of rails, but we believe these are unique to the Celery Farm.
More on wood rails here and below.
Blog post on the amazing Cranes of the Meadowlands is here.
Happy April Fool's Day!

I stopped dead in my tracks reading the latest blog on rails.I think you are on the right track, though, or mabye off the track, Jim. I’m keeping track. I think you have a one track mind pertaining to our farm which is on the other side of the tracks and off the beaten track..This may have beaten the track record for you, for covering your tracks. Hoping you get back on track, soon, very soon.

Something tells me we’re being rail-roaded on this day of special remembrance for fools everywhere. The perpetrator may have to be run out of town on a…. (with tar and rail feathers, of course.)

This is very curious Jim, I am noticing these wood rails everywhere, they may actually outnumber starlings at this point.
