Download ‘Phantoms of Ramapos’!
"Phantoms of the Ramapos," my new ghost story set in 1938 in downtown Allendale, at the Ho-Ho-Kus Speedway, and by the Darlington Schoolhouse in Mahwah, is now available as a free iTunes download for iPads and iPhones here.
More info (including on how to download a free pdf of the book for Kindles) follows.
I wanted to get the project done in time for the 75th anniversary of the armed robbery at the First National Bank of Allendale, which occurred on April 7, 1938. The robbery plays a key role in the story.
The story is accompanied by all sorts of rarely seen archival photographs and the nifty cover photo above, by Barbara Socor.
If you like the story, I'd love for you to send a small donation to the Concerned Citizens of Allendale, the group that saved the Fell House (the house also plays a role in the story).
Hard cover and soft cover versions are a possibility as well if there's much interest. E-mail me at celeryfarm@gmail.com for more information. And feel free to spread the word!
Don't have an iPad but want to read the story as a pdf? You can download the pdf free below (then just click the arrows on the right at the top of the file to read it page by page… second page is blank):

Jim, great story. Very much enjoyed it. Thanks for the research and the word-smithing. Taught me a thing or two as well.
