Here's the beginning: "It would be an immense understatement to say this has been a tough winter. We have had well over 50 inches of snow, temperatures far below normal, power outages and damage to our homes costing us and our economy over $50 billion.
"And yet as bad as it has been for us it has been even more desperate for our wildlife. Snow much too deep and hard for many creatures such as Squirrels to gather food from the forest floor … make this winter a fight for not only their survival but for many species in this particularly perilous winter as well."
