Now That’s a Backyard Bird!

I enjoyed your column on the Birdy 30 Challenge in The Record.

Here is a bird that others perhaps did not see, who has been in our yard every day through this cold weather (I have had seed out, especially while there was a lot of snow cover).

I am always surprised to see a Towhee in Winter, although come to think of it I saw one in Cape May in January of last year.

Thanks, Warren!

Hi Jim, Remember when I was describing a bird I thought could be a Rose-breasted Grosebeak at my Allendale feeder, and Lillian gently informed that this was extremely unlikely?
Stiles visited last week and figured out it was, as above, a Towhee – a nice bird, as he said.
