The big news at the Celery Farm is the Mayhood Extension, an addition to the Pirie Platform on Lake Appert, opposite the Allendale Brook.

The Pirie Platform was more than adequate when Rob Pirie built it 20 years ago, but it has proved so popular — especially during Sunday morning's weekly Hour on the Tower — that folks had run out of elbow room.

In memory of Charlie Mayhood and with the help of several volunteers, Marsh Warden Mike Limatola built the extension this spring. Charlie would be pleased.   (Thanks, Mike!)
