In Memory of Len Soucy

I regret to share some sad news.

Len Soucy, founder and long-time director of The Raptor Trust, died this week. He was in his early 80s.

No place cares more about — or for — injured or orphaned wild birds than avian veterinary center in Morris County that Soucy created.

The fact that anybody can bring an injured bird there for treatment, utterly free of charge, is incredible.

A link to a wonderful ScienceLine article about Len is here. The article, by Kate Baggeley, called Len "a force for nature." Amen.

He was a truly great man. I had the opportunity to spend quality time with Len for more than ten years. The world is less without you, Len. I will miss you. You live on.

  • It is a wonderful testimony to end well. our thoughts are with his family and friends.
