On Saturday, Sept. 13, my wife and I drove an injured Red-tailed hawk to The Raptor Trust, thanks to all the vigilant folks on Maltbie Avenue in Midland Park.

We just received an update from TRT:

Thank You for inquiring about the Red Tail you brought to us.

In the beginning he was having seizures and we suspected West Nile.  The seizures have stopped but he is still showing signs of neurological issues.

He is thin so we have been giving him a liquid diet and slowly introduced some food which unfortunately he vomited.

We have gone back to a liquid diet for now and will try food again soon. With all of these issues his prognosis is guarded.

He will be here for awhile so feel free to check on him again.
