New Column: Ridgewood Chimney Swifts

OLMC School Chimney-9-22-14--1910 hrs-a
My latest column in The Record and Herald-News is on Ridgewood's celebrated chimney swifts, how they went mising, and how and where many of them were found.

The newspaper didn't have room for Kurt Muenz's cool shots of the swifts entering the chimney at Our Lady of Mount Carmel's church school near downtown Ridgewood, so I am posting it here, along with Sandy Sorkin's photo of a Chimney Swift in flight — you don't see that pic every day, and I was glad the newspaper could run it.

The link to my column is here.

(A big thank you to Kurt and Sandy and everyone else who helped with this column.)
