Vote ‘Yes’ for Open Space Tomorrow
Tomorrow (Tuesday) could be a big day for open space in New Jersey. Voters have a chance to finally create a permanent funding source for the state's depleted Green Acres program — a program that has included funding for our own cherished Celery Farm.
Former Gov. Christie Whitman outlined why Green Acres is so important, and why a permanent funding source is needed in a recent Record Op-Ed. The link is here.
Environmental reporter Scott Fallon of The Record wrote an article that presented both sides of the argument. The link is here.
Tellingly, the only major funding for opposition to the measure is from the outlying Koch brothers, who do not care a whit about New Jersey or breathing room for future generations in the most densely populated state in the nation.
