A New Facebook Campaign

I recently started a new Facebook page for Protect Our Wildlife and Pets, an ad hoc coalition formed to address New Jersey’s rodent problem through public awareness and through control methods that do not imperil our wildlife and pets.
More than two dozen statewide, regional, and local environmental groups, as well as wildlife rehabilitators and animal-rights groups, have joined us.
This Facebook page is part of an education campaign to spread the word on making yards more nature-friendly – rat-resistant trash cans, improper feeding of wildlife, and more….
We also want to work with health departments to enforce laws against open dumpsters and to educate towns on the perils of rat bait stations.
Legislatively, we will work to minimize the use of the worst rat poisons (second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides, or SGARS) statewide, patterned after efforts in California.
