Duke Farms Eagle Update
Broadcast live streaming video on Ustream
From what I can tell, the Duke Farms female eagle laid her first egg some time between late yesterday afternoon and early this morning.
I have embedded the streaming Eagle Cam video above. (There may be a short commercial.)
Below is a screen shot from late yesterday afternoon, before the snow.
The link to Duke Farms' Eagle Cam page is here.

As I went online around 1030am, the eagle could be seen on its egg, passively looking around. After about a minute, she got quite restless, strained her neck to look ahead and then to the right, and then proceeded to call quite vocally while twitching her tail. I thought she was going to lay another egg but suddenly flew away only to return after a couple of seconds. One could clearly see the solitary egg during this time. She then hung around for a couple of minutes before deciding to sit on the egg again. She collected some twigs from the nest lining and seemed to place it over the egg before sitting on it. She also placed some twigs around herself for better insulation, it appeared.
Great fun watching her – thanks to Duke Farms and to you, Jim for posting the link!
