Three months ago, Allendale’s Mayor and Council proclaimed the red-shouldered hawk the official honorary bird of Allendale, “in recognition of its ecological significance, symbolic beauty, and frequent presence at the Celery Farm Nature Preserve.”

Yesterday, this young red-shoulder might have stopped by to say “Thank you, Allendale!”
