Ron Shields and I did a mini birding tour of the Meadowlands today and saw Bald Eagles at Losen Slote, Ridgefield Park, River Barge Park (four juvies perched along the Hackensack River.

The Losen Slote trails were nicely packed and easily navigable (photo above).

Other highlights from the tour included both Light-morph and Dark-morph Rough-legged Hawks, a Common Raven with small fish, and an American Kestrel — plus tons of Tree Sparrows.

Alice the Bald Eagle made a cameo appearance at Losen Slote and hung out on her nest (of course). Great day in the Meadowlands.

So what else is new?
