The Sky’s the Limit for This Birder

Glorious Red-tail
When I got a second-hand report of a possibly-injured red-tailed hawk in a tree in the Celery Farm, I got there as fast as I could — and found one of the most beautiful red-tails I have seen. It was eating a squirrel early dinner along the path on the east side of Lake Appert.
It seemed oblivious to my presence, even when I lay on the path to take its picture.
Any concerns about its health evaporated when it flew down the trail, post-prandial (always like to throw in that word once a decade or so). Thanks to Frank Alcaide for letting me know about the hawk.
