Mockingbird at the Feeders

IMG_1261Maybe it's snowy weather, but have had a Northern Mockingbird at the feeders recently — a first for me.

Has anyone else been getting unusual feeder birds?

  • Just the Pine Siskins. Some Juncos have learned to use the peanut feeder, and Goldfinches are using the platform feeder.

  • A flock of a dozen or so Red-winged Blackbirds made an appearance at our feeders yesterday late afternoon. Also saw a female Cowbird. Alas–no siskins or redpolls for us.

  • Nothing unusual at our feeders…just millions of feathered friends flying in and out. Wish I could see some blue birds. I have other plans for the squirrels which I will not mention. Red bellied just came in…saw robins at Wyckoff Nature Center along with two vultures in a tree, turkeys, deer-pregnant, swans, geese, people. It really is pretty outside right now with gently falling snow but enough already. ENOUGH.
