Monday Morning Mystery 040615 — Not for Squeamish

Diane Rigg of Ramsey writes:

"I know this is kind of gross, but found a skull yesterday in my yard.

"Having the Great Horned Owl nearby, I'm thinking it’s his work. but have no clue what it was.

"It’s very hard, like a shell, and from front to back was 4 inches  from side around top to side about 6 inches.

"Any clues what it might have been???"

Yes, will check with my neighbor that has a coi pond—-but the shell is very whoops was very hard-did not think fish heads were that hard. – almost like a sea shell–not a bunny rabbit head—-neighbors grandkids found one of those the day before i found this, no where near alike—happy day. diane rigg

A fish head. Do you have a body of water that had been frozen over this winter?
(Full disclosure — I had been a pathologist in my former career, although not a forensic one).

Call CSI!!! Looks like a rabbit maybe, and on Easter, oh no!
