Celery Farm Butterflies and Polyphemus Moth

Julie McCall writes:20150514_092610

Had a great morning of birding at The Celery Farm on Thursday, but also got to enjoy some other winged friends.

Saw my first Red Admiral, Eastern Tiger Swallowtails, Pearl Crescent, and Wild Indigo Duskywing today, along with the Cabbage Whites, who have been around for a while.

Most exciting, though, was a Polyphemus moth hanging out by No-Name Culvert.  It's the first I've seen at CF.  Photo attached.

In other insect news, I saw a Red-winged Blackbird eating a dragonfly today, but that was just sad.

(Thanks, Julie, and thanks to Patrick Carney for the assist on the ID!)
