One of my favorite art museums is the Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum, high above Kinderkamack Road in Oradell.
The setting is amazing, and so are paintings and sculptures — and the museum is free and open to the public.
The current exhibit, through June 30, is a retrospective of the museum's artists in residence over the years.
The current artist in resident is Cathy Sheeter, an excellent birder. Her work in scratchboard is top-notch. Her website is here.
Check out her Black-capped Chicakdees below, and check out this blog for some intriguing Blauvelt Art Museum news down the road.
More on the art museum is here. It is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am–4pm, and Saturday and Sunday 2–5pm.
