Update: Red-headed Duck, Brant & More at Celery Farm
This afternoon was one of those enchanted times at the Celery Farm.
Thanks to Rob Fanning I saw my first-ever Celery Farm Redhead and Brant, plus all sorts of other amazing sights — like the local Red-shoulders mixing it up with a Raven, plus a couple of Coots, for Ruddies, umpteen Wood Ducks, a Golden-crowned Kinglet and more. (Thanks, Rob!)
Headed out to the Warden's Watch at 3 p.m. and with Fred Weber's help, found the Redhead again, still fairly far away (above photo).
Had a little better luck with the Brant (below), who swam near the woodpile. I included the female Mallard for a size comparison.
Threw in the American Coot shot (bottom), because they always crack me up.

What would we who work 7 days/week do without Jim? I keep promising to get my grandkids back to the Celery Farm, but work continues to foil those plans.
Thx.
