Talk on Allendale’s Red-shoulders, plus Rob Fanning Reception

DSCN9807-003
Save the date:  On Friday, March 25, the legendary Stiles Thomas and his sidekick (me) will tell the story of Allendale's endangered Red-shouldered Hawks ' efforts to survive — and thrive — at  several local locations over the past 15 years.

The program at Allendale Borough Hall will feature a talk by me, comments by Stiles, photos of Laura and her mate taken by Fyke Nature Association members, plus a real-live Red-shoulder carving done by Stiles.

As you can see from the photo above, things are really looking up for us.

The Red-shoulders appear to be ready to nest again — for the 15th year in a row in Allendale or nearby Ramsey.

Stiles says only a total fool would miss this talk.

But wait, there's more!!

Following the likely scintillating program, Fyke is hosting a reception for the almost equally legendary Rob Fanning, whose job relocation will cut down on his Celery Farm visits and terrific sightings there

Some say that Rob — ace birder and Fyke stalwart — has done more for birding at the Celery Farm than Ralph the Redhead, Carl the Canvasback and Pete the Purple Gallinule combined.

Show begins at 8 p.m. Not to be missed.  Did I mention it's free?
