Last Chance to Hear My High Mountain Talk
Looking forward to doing my final High Mountain talk at the Mahwah Public Library this Wednesday night, May 11 at 7 p.m.
The 40-minute talk — free and open to the public — includes recent nature shots, aerial photography and archival images. (The photo above was taken for The Nature Conservancy last October with the help of LightHawk.)
The little speaking tour has been great — met so many amazing folks and learned so much about the mountain. Have spoken to audiences totaling more than 350 people combined.
High Mountain Park Preserve is one of the great spots to hike and enjoy nature in North Jersey's backyard. The preserve, located in nearby Passaic County, offers great views to the east as well as 11.5 miles of hiking trails — with a few birds to enjoy along the way.
Mahwah Public Library is located at 100 Ridge Road. www.mahwahlibrary.org.

I would love to have a copy of your presentation at the celery farm. I am working to put together a few anecdotes from my memories living below the mountain 1936-1962. And hopeful that you’d find them interesting enough to
put an article in the NJ Nature Conservancy newsletter. I really enjoyed the
article you recently published there. My wife and I hope to visit NJ in the fall for her brother in law’s 90th, at Cherry Hill. Then visit North Haledon and cousin Peter who lives at 91 Hillside Dr. I lived at 18 Hillside Dr. two houses from the corner with Glen Place. The latter has an extension westward
then northward up the mountain via the dirt (rocky) road to the summit at the north side. Haven’t been up the mtn. since 1959.
