Monday Mystery Answered

DSCN9045
On Monday, I asked: What kind of coal-like rock (from High Mountain) is this, and what was it used for?

Ginny Chucka got the correct answer — it's chert. Flint, which is made from Chert, is used to make wonderful arrowheads. (Way to go, Ginny!)

More about Chert here.
