For the 18th year in a row, North Haledon has sponsored a free "Breakfast on High Mountain" event.

Instead of singing for your supper, you hike for your hash-browns (and scrambled eggs, sausage and bagels).

This year's rain date was yesterday. The cool weather was perfect for hiking, and the turnout was great.

Also heard this tidbit — when you could smell the aroma of cookies coming from the east (Fair Lawn Nabisco plant), you knew rain was coming…
