New Trailhead Signs at High Mountain

20160515_125224
With the help of Richard Gehring, Wyatt Gehring, Mark Hall, Paul Miller, Rich Dean and Kevin Kervatt, The Nature Conservancy's Scott Sherwood installed two new trailhead signs at the High Mountain Park Preserve on Sunday.

One is at the Red Trail Parking Lot trailhead on University Drive at William Paterson University in Wayne. The other is at Reservoir Drive at Navajo Trail in North Haledon.

I watched part of the installation of the sign at William Paterson. They dug holes for the the posts  42 inches deep, repeatedly busting through rock to get the job done — no easy task.

The signs were made possible by a grant from the Winifred M. and George P. Pitkin Foundation.

(Thanks, guys, from everyone who loves High Mountain!)
