Bluebirds Rule at the NJ Botanical Garden
A while back, my wife and I found an uprooted bluebird box at the NJ Botanical Garden. After we failed…
Earlier this year, "Bluebird Man" Stiles Thomas installed an Eastern Bluebird nesting box for a friend in Gardiner, N.Y. (near New Paltz).
Now that nesting season is over, the owner removed the the nest below.
We know that bluebirds nested there (we saw them flying in and out with food), but we wonder if there were any other tenants. Anyonew have any theories?
Possibly a wren took it over. I’ve had that happen with a nest box mounted on my clothesline after the bluebirds were gone.
