Nature Done Wright

As I walked past Phairs Pond yesterday, I noticed a huge critter leaving the water.

A very attractive Snapping Turtle, wandering around.

I checked back later to see it if had laid any eggs but I couldn't tell. Too many fallen leaves.

Soon saw the turtle walking down a nearby ditch though, making very good time for a turtle, I suppose.

I recall seeing some late-season Snapping Turtles in years past, but couldn't seem to find any record of them on the blog.
