Eagle Day Is Saturday at New Bridge Landing
To celebrate Eagle Day this Saturday at New Bridge Landing, I thought I'd share these photos of Bald Eagles that Steve Ceragno took on Sunday on Bell Drive, Ridgefield, opposite the Overpeck nest. (Thanks, Steve! Pretty cool.)
Two of the adult eagles were gracious enough to fly overhead.
The larger of the two raptors was a female (above) , and since she is not missing any feathers, we determined that she was not our resident female Alice but an interloper. Al, the resident male Bald Eagle took to the skies to tell her to go away. At least that's how I saw it.
I'll have more info on Saturday's event in my Thursday column.
