Celery Farm Trail Cam (Part 1)

IMG_2669
Last Friday while touring the Celery Farm, I came across a dead deer (may it rest in peace) near the office parks on Commerce Drive.

The remains, though fresh, had already proved popular with the local vultures and an American Crow.

The Turkey Vultures were dining while the Black Vultures waited patiently on a roof nearby (above) and the crow complained.

When I told Stiles Thomas about the find, he suggested I buy a trail cam like the one we borrowed from fellow Fyker Dave Kaplan to capture the photos of the Wild Turkeys, Unicorns and Giant Squirrel in Stiles'  yard.

And so I did. Over the next few days I will post the pix of the critters that helped remove the deer carcass.

Can anyone name the two other species — besides the vultures and crows — that stopped by for a bite?

Stay tuned.

So, at the Farm we have, muskrats, mink and birds…..any of them perhaps?
    I don’t really know unless I look it up—cheating.

  • I saw a red tailed hawk over by the remains. The hawk had blood on its beak and talons, so I’m presuming it had a bite. It was being harassed by the crows when I saw it. Interestingly, the hawk was banded, although I couldn’t get a clear read on the numbers.

  • I’m going to speculate fox and flies. The F troop.
