Celery Farm Closed Today
Following a long-standing policy established by Marsh Warden Emeritus Stiles Thomas, the Celery Farm Natural Area will be closed today, April 1, to give all newly arrived waterfowl time to plan for their upcoming stays at the sanctuary.
We asked bird expert Rob Fanning for his thoughts, and he said he was surprised that more natural areas haven't done the same.
Sorry if you were planning a visit, but policies are policies.
More information follows.
Happy April Fools Day!

Julie,
Great report. So sorry I stayed away. Now if only that Ivory-billed Woodpecker would come back. How much suet is it going to take? -
I’m ashamed to say I didn’t see this notice and accidentally violated it today. It was worth the delinquency, however, as I was fortunate enough to come across 2 purple gallinules being chased by a steller’s sea eagle. Don’t worry – a wolverine got the eagle and the gallinules flew off safely.

I fall for it every year?

Love this Jim, every year! Thanks
